Accessibility Statement

THE SEVEN

This document has been deliberately drafted in a simplified form and in clear, understandable language, and thus complies with the principles and accessibility requirements of Directive (EU) 2019/882 (the European Accessibility Act).

In accordance with Article 4 and Annex I of Directive (EU) 2019/882, information on accessibility must be provided in a way that is perceivable, operable, understandable and robust, including through the use of clear language and a structure that is not complex.

The simplification of this document therefore constitutes direct compliance with a legal obligation and does not replace any more detailed technical or legal documentation, where such exists.

This document has been provided by AccessiWay to comply with the requirements of the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and the German Accessibility Act (BaFG).
Each more complex section is preceded by a simpler explanation.

Compliance with accessibility requirements

(How we meet the requirements)

We have tested www.das-sieben.com against the following standards: the European Accessibility Act, the German Accessibility Act (BaFG), EN 301 549 and WCAG 2.2.

In doing so, we ensure that we comply with the following principles:

Perceptible

  • The content is displayed in a logical order. Assistive technologies can interpret it correctly.
  • Instructions do not rely solely on colour, shape, size, position, alignment or sound to explain content and how to use the site.
  • The content adapts to the screen orientation. The presentation and functionality remain the same.
  • Where there are input fields for specific data, their purpose is correctly communicated to assistive technologies.
  • Information is not conveyed solely through colour. There are alternatives such as text or symbols.
  • Users can adjust the text size themselves without compromising usability.
  • Information is displayed as text. Images containing text are only used when they are genuinely necessary.
  • Content that does not need to be displayed within fixed frames adapts automatically. It wraps correctly when the screen size changes.
  • Important elements always have sufficient colour contrast with neighbouring elements, even if these change. The contrast ratio is at least 3:1.
  • If the spacing within the text is changed, no information or content is lost. This applies, for example, to lines, paragraphs, letters or words.
  • Where applicable, content that appears on mouse-over or when focused remains visible. It can be closed without moving the mouse or the focus.

Operable

  • All functions can be used with a keyboard or similar assistive technology. These include menus, links, forms, sliders and other interactive elements.
  • Users can navigate to and from all areas using the keyboard. There are no keyboard traps.
  • Where present, keyboard shortcuts using letters, numbers or symbols do not interfere with use.
  • There are no fixed time limits. Where time limits do exist, users can set, extend or adjust the time. Alternatively, the time limits are necessary for valid reasons.
  • All moving content has controls that allow users to pause or operate it.
  • Content does not flash or flicker and does not trigger seizures. It always remains within safety limits.
  • All views in the process have titles that explain the topic or purpose.
  • Users can recognise the purpose of a link from the link text or from the link text in the context of the surrounding content.
  • Users can recognise content in the environment in several ways.
  • Headings and labels provide clear information about the content and function.
  • For all interactive elements, the focus is visible when navigating with the keyboard.
  • Elements that receive keyboard focus are always at least partially visible within the viewport.
  • Elements that receive keyboard focus are always at least partially visible.
  • Functions do not start immediately upon touch. Users can cancel them beforehand. They do not need to be held down to work.
  • For elements containing text or text images, assistive technologies read out the same text that is visible on screen.
  • All functions can be used without relying solely on the movement of the device or the user.
  • All functions can be used without the need for dragging gestures.
  • The clickable area of interactive elements is large enough to allow users to operate them easily.

Understandable

  • Each page is in the correct language. The language is used consistently throughout the service.
  • Where available, all parts of a text that are in a specific language can be recognised by programmes.
  • Elements do not change suddenly when they receive keyboard focus. This ensures users are not confused.
  • Elements do not change suddenly when users activate them via the keyboard or assistive technologies. This prevents users from becoming confused.
  • Navigation is always in the same place.
  • Recurring elements of the user interface look the same, so that users can recognise them easily.
  • The ways to get help are the same everywhere.
  • If an error occurs, the system highlights the incorrect field and explains the error in text form.
  • Where users need to enter information, there are labels or instructions.
  • If an input error occurs and it can be corrected, the system displays suggestions. Suggestions are only omitted if required by law.
  • We write content in clear and simple language.

Sturdy

  • Well-known technologies are used that can be read by assistive technologies.
  • When status messages appear, the system recognises them immediately. Assistive technologies can read them without the user having to shift focus.

We have tested www.das-sieben.com with the most common assistive technologies across various combinations of operating systems and browsers:

  • Screen readers such as NVDA and JAWS (Windows) as well as VoiceOver (Mac and iOS) help us ensure that interactive elements are read out correctly and can be operated.
  • We also test usability with screen magnification and in high-contrast mode.

Our aim is to be compatible with the latest versions of common assistive technologies. In doing so, we follow the best practices set out in WCAG 2.2 and the EN 301 549 standard. This ensures that accessibility is maintained even as technology evolves.

Standards:
On this basis, we apply the criteria of WCAG 2.2 (Level AA, current version) and EN 301 549. Compliance with these standards serves as evidence of conformity with the EAA, the Accessibility Act (BaFG) and other relevant regulations.

Ongoing monitoring and maintenance

For us, accessibility is not a one-off project, but an ongoing process. This is how we ensure that www.das-sieben.com remains accessible in the long term:

Accessibility Coordination

  • Our accessibility officer monitors the digital accessibility of the website www.das-sieben.com and can be contacted at the following email address: info@das-sieben.com.
  • With the support of AccessiWay, we carried out a manual audit by external experts on 3 July 2026 to verify our compliance with accessibility standards. We follow a continuous cycle of testing and improvements and, through regular support, ensure that comprehensive checks — including manual testing by specialists using assistive technologies — are carried out at least once a year.
  • We use automated testing tools integrated into our development process to quickly identify common accessibility issues (such as missing alternative text or form labels). Every code update undergoes these checks.
